Jean-Philippe Mc Clish is a bass from Quebec City, praised by Ludwig Van for his “superb warm, full, deep, powerful, and impressive voice.” He has performed with Opéra de Montréal, Opéra de Québec, Edmonton Opera, and the Verbier Festival, to name a few. He will debut with Palazzetto Bru Zane and Valencia Palau de les arts this 2025/26 season.
JP’s repertoire includes Achilla (Giulio Cesare), Colline (La Bohème), Frère Laurent (Roméo et Juliette), Raimondo (Lucia di Lammermoor), and Kékszakállú (Bluebeard’s Castle).
A recipient of the Jacqueline Desmarais Award, he trained at the Atelier lyrique de l’Opéra de Montréal and holds degrees from McGill University and the Conservatoire de Québec. Discover more in full bio.
